Predictive Index | Validation Studies | PI FAQ's
The Predictive Index System was formulated in the 1950's by Arnold S. Daniels who devised a survey that could accurately measure a wide spectrum of psychological and behavioural characteristics. During the 1950's, having helped to develop behavioural tests for positions within the US Air Force, Arnold S. Daniels was convinced that there was a valuable role for these tests in business where such tools were virtually unknown. The first statistically proven prototypes of what became known as the Predictive Index were developed over the next few years and it was in 1955 that the first generation PI checklist and training course were launched. Over the next fifteen years, with many thousands of PI checklists available for statistical study, the norms were revised and refined and the second generation of the system was developed.
In 1971, Arnold S. Daniels Associates was incorporated as Praendex Incorporated. The next twenty years saw the development of the 3 day seminar based training format which is still in operation today.
Today Praendex Incorporated now trades under the name of PI Worldwide and, with a global client base, has continued to develop into a successful international management consultancy. There are now over 30 licensees, 200 associates and more than 45,000 active PI analysts using the system in 147 countries and 60 languages. The programme today is in its fourth generation and is the most highly developed and accurate behavioural system ever devised.
The Predictive Index System first became available in Europe in the late 1970's. Praendex Europe SA, the parent company of PI Europe Ltd, holds the license for the use of PI throughout most of Europe. The administration centre is located in the UK.
